This case demonstrates a way to insert implant crowns that allows for full retrievability using a lingual set screw. Any case can benefit from this technique, but it is essential for cases where the access for the abutment screw is too far buccal to allow for screw access from the occlusal. This is also a beneficial technique if you just want to avoid an occlusal access hole for any reason.
The implant system is a Straumann Bone Level RC implant.
The first slide shows an abutment that has been tapped for the set screw. And the following slides show the insertion of the set screw and the view from the lingual. The set screw system we are using is a product by Bredent.
Shade taking was done using a standard Vita 3D Master Shade Guide to get the base shade and to record the value of the tooth. Then custom shade tabs were used to get the nuances. These shade tabs are made by us at In-House Dental Studio. They are made from molds using shades from the Creation porcelain system.
